Tom O’Dwyer

Tom O'DwyerTom O’Dwyer is Director of Healthcare Technology at Analog Devices Inc. in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In his current role, he has responsibility for all aspects of semiconductor technology for the worldwide healthcare market including medical imaging, patient monitoring equipment such as ECG and pulse oximetry, and home healthcare. His main focus is on new and emerging technologies in areas such as MEMS devices, biotechnology, body-worn sensors, and electrochemistry.

He holds a Bachelor of Electronic Engineering degree from University College Dublin, Ireland and a Masters degree in Computer Systems from the University of Limerick, Ireland. He is a founder and active member of the Biomedical Diagnostics Institute, a joint industry–academic research institute based at Dublin City University funded by the Irish government developing next generation portable diagnostic systems. He is also a visiting scientist and advisory board member of the Medical Device Realization Center (MEDRC) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which develops advanced patient monitoring and imaging systems.
