David Ferrucci
David A. Ferrucci is an IBM Fellow and the Principal Investigator for the DeepQA Watson/Jeopardy! project. He has been at the T. J. Watson Research Center since 1995, where he leads the Semantic Analysis and Integration Department. Dr. Ferrucci focuses on technologies for automatically discovering meaning in natural-language content and using it to enable better human decision making.
He graduated from Manhattan College, with a B.S. degree in biology and from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in 1994 with a Ph.D. degree in computer science specializing in knowledge representation and reasoning. He has published papers in the areas of AI, knowledge representation and reasoning, natural-language processing, and automatic question answering.
