Ritu Khare

Ritu Khare is a Research Fellow with the National Center for Biotechnology Information at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She conducts health informatics research focused on data and text mining, natural language processing, information extraction, and data integration. Her ongoing projects include drug indication mining from publicly available Web pages, and enriching federally curated drug resources using text mining. Her previous projects included improving usability of EMRs using data mining, annotation and integration of clinical documents, and designing EMR error detection algorithms. She was the Co-organizer of the International Workshop on Data Mining for Healthcare (DMH 2013) and has served as the program committee member for other health and biomedical informatics conferences including, IEEE International Conference on Health Informatics (ICHI 2013), International Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedicine (BIBM 2012), Smart Health and Well Being (SHB 2012), and Data Analytics for Targeted Healthcare (DANTH) held in conjunction with PAKDD 2013, in the past. She earned her Doctorate in Information Science in 2011 from the iSchool at Drexel University, in collaboration with the Drexel University College of Medicine.
