Maximilian Hofmann was born in Coburg, Germany, in 1985. From 2003 to 2009, he studied electronics engineering at the University of Applied Science Coburg, Coburg, Germany, the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Erlangen, Germany, the Tongji University Shanghai, Shanghai, China, and the École Polytechnique de Montréal, Montréal, QC, Canada. He received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical, electronic and communications engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Nuremberg, Erlangen Germany, in 2010. In 2010, he joined the Institute for Electronics Engineering, Erlangen, Germany, as a Research Assistant.
