Bayu Jayawardhana received a bachelor degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia in 2000, a M.Eng. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2003. and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Imperial College London, United Kingdom in 2006. He was with Bath University (Bath, United Kingdom) and with Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre, University of Manchester (Manchester, United Kingdom). Currently he is a university reader in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at University of Groningen, Netherlands. His research interests are on the analysis of nonlinear systems, mechatronics, systems, and synthetic biology. He is a senior member of IEEE, a subject editor of International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, an associate editor of European Journal of Control, a member of the Conference Editorial Board of the IEEE Control Systems Society and chair of the IEEE CSS TC on Systems Biology.
